উনিশের শহিদদের শ্রদ্ধা জানালেন কাছাড়ের জেলাশাসক
DC Cachar pays rich tribute to the language martyrs

১৯ মে : উনিশে মে ভাষা শহিদ দিবসে বাংলা ভাষা শহিদদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেছেন কাছাড়ের জেলাশাসক কীর্তি জাল্লি। উনিশের সকালে তিনি অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক সুমিত সাত্তাওয়ান এবং সহকারী কমিশনার অভিলাষ বার্নওয়ালের সঙ্গে শিলচর রেলস্টেশন পরিদর্শন করেন।

১৯৬১ সালের ১৯ মে বাংলা ভাষার জন্য আত্মাহুতি দেওয়া ১১ জন সাহসী বীর সেনানীর প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করে জল্লি জেলার জনগণকে শহিদদের আত্মত্যাগ থেকে অনুপ্রেরণা নিয়ে করোনার সংক্রমণ থেকে নিজেদের রক্ষা করার আহ্বান জানান। এই অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি বলেন, “জেলায় ইতিমধ্যে কোভিড-১৯-র সংক্রমণ বহুগুণ বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। তিনি জনগণকে ঘরে থাকার এবং কেবলমাত্র যখন খুব বেশি প্রয়োজন হবে, তখনই বাইরে আসার জন্য বলেন।

জেলাশাসক বলেন, ‘আমরা যদি কোভিড-১৯ থেকে নিজেকে বাঁচানোর চেষ্টা করি, তবেই আমরা আমাদের ভাষা সংরক্ষণ করতে পারব। তিনি ভাষা শহিদদের নিয়ে লেখা ই-ম্যাগাজিন পড়ার জন্য সবাইকে অনুরোধ জানান।

May 19: Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli paid rich tributes to the language martyrs on Bhasha Shahid Divas. In the morning, she visited Silchar Railway Station along Additional Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and Assistant Commissioner Abhilash Barnawal.

Remembering the sacrifices of 11 brave hearts who laid down their lives on 19 May,1961 for the cause of Bengali language,Jalli urged the people of the district to seek inspiration from the sacrifices of the martyrs and protect themselves against further spread of COVID-19.

Speaking during the occasion, Jalli said “Already cases are multiplying in the district, hence it is my earnest appeal to all the people to stay home and step out only when it is utmost essential”.

We can save our language if we try to save ourselves from the COVID-19, she said. She also requested the people to  read an e-magazine released on the Language Martyrs. The Deputy Commissioner also visited Silchar Crematorium and paid homage to the 11 martyrs of 1961.
