DC Cachar lights diya, wished that the light shall dispel all gloom

April 14: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal made an appeal to light diya on 14 April. Responding to the call of the Chief Minister, Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar lighted diya at the doorstep of her official residence in Silchar.

By observing the plea made by the Chief Minister, the Deputy Commissioner thanked the people of Barak Valley and wished them on the festive occasion of Poila Boishak and Rongali Bihu. She appreciated the efforts each citizen has made towards restraining themselves inside their homes during the ongoing lockdown to defeat coronavirus. She mentioned that the light shall dispel all the gloom around and usher in bright and prosperous times for the people of Assam.
