DC Cachar Keerthi Jalli tests negative for COVID-19, urges people not to panic
July 2: As the number of coronavirus cases are on the rise in Assam, the state government has put immense stress on more and more testing. Till Wednesday, a total of 4,19,878 tests were done across Assam, out of which, 54,100 tests were done in the lab at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). In order to create awareness among the public for doing COVID-19 tests, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli also gave her swab sample at SMCH. Her reports came on Thursday and DC Jalli tested negative.
Leading by example, Keerthi Jalli urged upon the public to go to the nearest medical centre wearing face masks and do swab test, especially in cases of Influenza Like Symptoms (ILI), SARI symptoms like fever, cold, cough, headache. She stressed upon the fact that people should come out of the fear psychosis around Covid-19. Awareness and obeying COVID-19 protocol like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing are the ways and means to remain away from being infected by the virus. DC Jalli further urged upon the people not to panic or worry.
