DC Cachar inaugurates immunization drive ‘Ramdhenu’ for pregnant women & children in Silchar

July 7: Along with other districts of the state, immunization programme of Mission Ramdhenu has started in Cachar from Wednesday. In addition to the usual immunization programme, this vaccination was started to strengthen the routine vaccination programme. Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Keerthi Jalli inaugurated the immunization programme at a function organized at Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital in Silchar on Wednesday.

While delivering her speech, DC Cachar Keerthi Jalli said, “Due to Covid many pregnant women and children did not turn out for vaccination. Special drive “Mission Ramdhenu” which has started on 7 July will continue till 13 July in which all pregnant women and children awaiting immunisation will be covered. So its a request that all the pregnant women and children should come forward for immunisation”.

No description available.It’s worth mentioning that Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has declared ‘Mission Ramdhenu, Assam 2021’ for Immunization of the Children & Pregnant Women from 7 to 13 July, 7 to 13 August and from 7 to 13 September in the state. It is also pertinent to mention here that this vaccine is being provided free of cost at all health centers in the district. Under this program, 2278 pregnant women and 2248 children in Cachar district will be administered vaccine against pentavalent rotavirus measles rubella and Japanese encephalitis.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Health , Cachar, Eldrad Fahreim, Joint Director of Health, Cachar – Dr Bimal Joyti Debsikdar, Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr P.K Roy, District immunization Officer, Cachar ,Dr Sumana Naiding, Medical and Health Officer, Incharge Urban Family welfare, Dr Rima Patoa were also present during occasion.
