DC Cachar holds meeting regarding implementation of ongoing schemes under DRDA

April 28: Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Barnali Sharma held a meeting on the implementation of ongoing schemes under DRDA as per recent guidelines and SOP communicated by CPRD on Tuesday. The Deputy Commissioner discussed the matter regarding concentration on MGNEREGA works, PMAY-G etc based on new guidelines and SOP for MGNEREGA and PMAY-6 by all GP level of P&RD employees working in the district as these are the programme of P&RD Department as per SOP which can be implemented for meeting the challenges arising out of COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Deputy commissioner mentioned that uniform passes should be given to the Panchayat and rural development staff. She also gave instruction to the all Block Development Officers to prepare as per specimen given in the SOP maintaining the records in the block. Deputy Commissioner discussed all points on the SOP for starting of the MGNEREGA schemes preferably NRM and agriculture based schemes maintaining social distancing. She also mentioned about certain precautionary measures to be taken, which include, job card holders should put masks on their faces and should use hand sanitizers and water in the work site,60years above job card holders should be avoided. The Deputy commissioner also directed the BDO’s to place the requirements for masks to their own self help group or the DPM, ASRLM, Cachar unit.

Regarding implementation of PMAY-G, there is mandatory convergence with MGNEREGA on providing 90-95 days of unskilled wages and hence PMAY-G works can also be taken up along with MGNEREGA works and at the same time, inspection of houses, geo-tagging and fund transfer order can be done. In this connection, opening of hardware shops in each area for purchasing of materials for PMAY-G construction works was also discussed.

The meeting was also attended by Chairman ,Zilla parishad,Cachar, Amitabh Rai, District Development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim, Assistant Commissioner Debajoyti Gogoi, District Planning officer Ruli Doulaghapu, Assistant Planning Officer Sanghita Gupta and Special Executive Officer DRDA Rasaraj Das.
