DC Hailakandi gives strict orders to Brick Kiln owners to arrange food & shelter to labourers
ইটভাটা মালিকদের নির্দেশ, লকডাউন চলাকালে শ্রমিকদের থাকা-খাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে

৩০ মার্চ: হাইলাকান্দি জেলার কিছু ইটভাটায় এখনও শ্রমিকদের দিয়ে কাজ করানো হচ্ছে৷ আবার কিছু ইটভাটায় কাজ বন্ধ হতেই শ্রমিকদের রেশন বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে৷ অভিযোগ পেয়েই সক্রিয় হয়ে ওঠেন জেলাশাসক কীর্তি জল্লি৷ নোটিশ ইস্যু করেন, লকডাউন চলাকালে দুটোই বেআইনি৷

তিনি স্পষ্ট জানিয়ে দেন, এই সময়ে সমস্ত ইটভাটা বন্ধ থাকবে৷ কিন্তু শ্রমিকদের রেশন অব্যাহত রাখতে হবে৷ তাদের থাকার ব্যবস্থা করা যে ইটভাটা মালিকদেরই, তাও উল্লেখ করেন ওই নির্দেশে৷ অন্যথায় আইন অনুযায়ী ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের কথা শুনিয়ে রেখেছেন জেলাশাসক জল্লি|

March 30: Since the 21 days national lockdown from midnight of 24 March, Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi along with her team has been constantly striving to implement it throughout the length and breadth of the district. Apart from it, Jalli is also keeping an eye on the availability of food and other essential commodities. When reports came that some Brick Kiln owners of Hailakandi are not providing food/ ration and accomodation to its labourers, she at once took strict measure.

The administration acted promptly on receiving complaints that some brick kilns were working and closed them down immediately. Brick kilns have been closed down across the district. The administration also issued an order on Saturday to the brick kiln owners to provide ration and shelter to the labourers and ensure their safety. It warned of legal action if the owners violated the order. The order is also applicable to all the commercial and industrial units.
