CWC provides fund under CSR for construction of maternity wards for Covid patients in Cachar.
Jan. 12: Central Ware Housing Corporation (CWC) has handed over a cheque worth Rs. 31,48,500 as first installment to the Cachar Administration at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office here in Silchar on Wednesday. The amount will be spent towards financial assistance for the construction of 4 Maternity wards (COVID positive), one at Dwarbond HWC under Dholai Primary Health Center, one at Borjalenga MPHC, one at Bhubaneswarnagar HWC and one at Silcoore HWC in Cachar district. The total cost of the project is Rs. 62,97,000. The amount will be spent under CSR scheme for the financial year 2021-22.
It is relevant to mention that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is authorised to support initiatives for improving and promoting infrastructure for benefit of people by upgrading health services.
Expression joy, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli said, “It gives me immense delight to note that the Central Ware Housing Corporation as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has provided a cheque worth Rs. 31,48,500 as first installment to the Cachar Administration for making the health infrastructure of the district more robust. I express my deep gratitude to CWC and hope that they would continue such endeavour as a part of its commitment to social participation in the larger interest of deprived and the most backward section of the populace.”
