জিপিএস-এর কোর্স চালু , দায়িত্বে শিলচর নেট্রিপ
India’s 1st GPS courses launched at Silchar under aegis of NATRIP

১১ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ আগামী বছর থেকে প্রতিটি বাণিজ্যিক যানে জিপিএস লাগানো বাধ্যতামূলক। তাই এখন থেকেই কেন্দ্রীয় ভারি শিল্প মন্ত্রক চালু করেছে ‘কোর্স অন জিপিএস অ্যান্ড অটোমোটিভ টেলিমেটিকস’। নাম লম্বাচওড়া, খটমট হলেও মূলত শেখানো হবে জিপিএস-এর কাজই। আজ শিলচর নেট্রিপ-এ এই কোর্সের সূচনা হয়েছে। ভারতে একমাত্র এখানেই এমন বিষয়ে কোর্স চালু হল। দায়িত্বে নেট্রিপের অন্তর্গত ন্যাশনাল ইনস্টিটিউট ফর অটোমোটিভ ইন্সপেকশন মেনটেনান্স অ্যান্ড ট্রেনিং (নিয়াইমট)।

অসম সরকারের পরিবহণ বিভাগের ডেপুটি কমিশনার দীপজ্যোতি চক্রবর্তী জানান, ২০১৯ সাল থেকে ভারতে গাড়ির নতুন পারমিট বা পুনর্নবীকরণের ক্ষেত্রে প্রথমেই দেখা হবে, গাড়িতে জিপিএস কাজ করছে কিনা। সে বিষয়টি বিবেচনা করেই এই কোর্সের কথা ভাবা বলে জানিয়েছেন নেট্রিপের চিফ এগজিকিউটিভ অফিসার নীতি সরকার। তিনি অবশ্য উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে ছিলেন না। সংস্থার সদর দফতর থেকে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সে তাঁর বক্তব্য শোনানো হয়।  নীতি বলেন, আগামী বছর থেকে জিপিএস -র কাজ জানা না থাকলে গাড়ি নিয়ে বেরোতে সমস্যা হতে পারে। তাই চালক-খালাসিদের বিষয়টি জেনে রাখা উচিত।

নিয়াইমট-এর শিলচর প্রধান ড. অভিজিতকুমার মণ্ডল জানান, দেশের অন্য কোনও শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে এই বিষয়ে এখনও কোনও কোর্স চালু হয়নি। ফলে আগ্রহীদের নাম লেখাতে হবে এখানেই। খুবই সহজ শর্তে তাঁরা ভর্তি নিচ্ছেন। অষ্টম শ্রেণি উত্তীর্ণ হলেই চারদিনের কোর্সে জিপিএস-এর খুঁটিনাটি জেনে নেওয়া যেতে পারে। সে জন্য কোর্স ফি ১ হাজার ২৬০ টাকা। তাঁর কথায়, এই কোর্সটি শুধু চালক-খালাসি বা গাড়িমালিকদের জন্যই নয়। বেকার যুবক-যুবতীরাও এই কোর্স করে নিজেদের কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করতে পারবেন। কিছুদিন পরই যখন প্রতিটি গাড়িতে জিপিএস থাকবে, তখন স্থানে স্থানে প্রয়োজন হবে জিপিএস সার্ভিস সেন্টারের।

আজ শিলচর নেট্রিপে আয়োজিত উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিএসএনএল-এর জেনারেল ম্যানেজার ওয়াইকে বনসর, বিএসএফ-এর ডিআইজি এমএল গর্গ, মীনাক্ষী কুকরেজা, অনুব্রত চৌধুরী প্রমুখ।

September 11:National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP) CEO and project director Neeti Sarkar today inaugurated a course on automotive telematics and GPS technician, primarily for drivers and mechanics at the NATRiP at Japhirbond in Cachar district of Assam near here.

This is following the government’s move to mandatorily equip all public transport vehicles, including goods carrying trucks, taxis, buses, with GPS devices from April 1 next year, the National Institute for Automotive Inspection Maintenance and Training (NIAIMT) launched the course at the NATRiP here.

The first of its kind initiative in the country taken up by the NIAMT under the Union ministry of heavy Industry and public enterprises, in collaboration with New Delhi-based Indian Auto Company (IAC) as training partner and SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) as knowledge partner was ceremonially inaugurated by Sarkar via video conference from New Delhi and simultaneously at the local base by Deepjyoti Chakraborty, deputy commissioner of the department of transport, Assam.

`Following the government recommendations on the incorporation of the GPS technology into the public transport, we wish to cover more people with training and awareness about automotive telematics. There is a growing need for trained manpower to handle such upgraded tech-driven devices which would ease the movement of vehicles and enhance connectivity across the country.
