Covid spike continues in Cachar, 27 detected positive on Thursday

Jan. 6: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually increasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 9 PM. As per the latest data, 27 persons were found positive in the district on 6 January. Also, 08 patients were discharged (02 hospital & 06 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 78. On Wednesday, 17 persons were found positive in Cachar. It needs mention here that in Assam, the number of daily positive cases was recorded at 844.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,621 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 13 persons were found positive, whereas 14 were detected positive out of 327 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,680 whereas during this phase, 20,360 patients were discharged.

The Covid-19 cases at SMCH has somewhat increased at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) since the last 6 days. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 05 January to 5 PM on 06 January) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at SMCH. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 06 January, there were 23 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 01 is in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 02 were discharged.
