COVID Paediatric ICU to start up in 7 medical colleges of Assam including SMCH: Health Minister
June 4: Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Friday announced some important measures which the state government shall adopt in the management of Covid-19 in the state. The minister declared that COVID Paediatric ICU to start up in 7 medical colleges of Assam.
The other important decisions announced by the Minister on Friday are:
- COVID patients with co-morbidities to go for institutional quarantine irrespective of age.
- COVID vaccination programme to ramp up with 70 thousand daily doses in Kamrup(M), Sonitpur, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Cachar.
- Special vaccination arrangements for senior citizens and specially abled people.
- Government to provide 3 months interest free loan to private hospitals willing to purchase & administer vaccines(under the 25% reserved quota).
- Government has decided to fix rates for private super speciality & private general hospitals in respect of COVID treatment,cabin charges,ICU with ventilators & ICU without ventilators,a notification regarding the same will be issued shortly.
