COVID in Barak: 6 more in Karimganj, 2 each in Cachar & Hailakandi

May 29: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam along with the three districts of Barak Valley are rising alarmingly. Those who are affected now are mostly those who have come to Assam from outside states. On Friday morning, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted information about 30 new COVID-19 cases, out of which 10 are from Barak Valley. As per the break-up, 6 more persons were infected in Karimganj and 2 each in Cachar and Hailakandi.

With the 10 more cases, the total cases in Barak Valley has gone up to 105. Informing this in his Facebook page, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy wrote that at present, the total number of active cases in Barak Valley has gone upto 87. All of them are undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Here is the list of the 10 patients who were detected as COVID-19 positive from Barak Valley:
