Covid death reaches 5,000 in Assam, 1,797 tests Covid-19 +ve on Monday

There are 16,107 active Covid cases in Assam

July 19: On Monday, out of 1,52,772 tests, 1,797 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,49,080. The positivity rate in the state is 1.18 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 237 positive cases during the day. Further, on Monday, 20 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,019. The recovery rate is 95.91 percent.

It needs mention here that on Sunday, 1,329 persons tested positive in Assam and 15 deaths were registered.

On Monday, 2,138 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,26,607 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 95.91 percent.  At present, there are 16,107 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 20 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 20 deceased, 04 each are from Golaghat & Sonitpur; 02 from Goalpara; 01 each from Barpeta, Cachar, Charaideo, Darrang, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Nagaon and Sivasagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,019.
