করিমগঞ্জের দুই আক্রান্তও শিলচরে কোয়রান্টাইনে
2 new COVID-19 patients of Karimganj were at quarantine facility in Silchar

19 মেঃ বরাক উপত্যকায় আরও দুইজন করোনায় সংক্রমিত হলেন৷ তাদের বাড়ি করিমগঞ্জ জেলায়৷ ফলে ওই  জেলায় মোট সংক্রমিতের সংখ্যা পাঁচ৷ তাঁদের মধ্যে দুইজন সুস্থ হয়ে বাড়ি ফিরেছেন৷ কাছাড় জেলা স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগ সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, মঙ্গলবার যে দুইজনের দেহে সংক্রমণ নিশ্চিত হয়েছে, করিমগঞ্জ জেলার রামকৃষ্ণনগরের বালিরবন্দ গ্রামের দুই যুবক শাহিনুল হক ও সামসুল হক মুম্বই থেকে শিলচরে আসেন৷ সোমবার গাড়ি চেপে এরা শিলচর আইএসবিটিতে এসে নামলে তাদের লালারস সংগ্রহ করে শিলচর সোনাই রোডের এক হোটেলে কোয়রান্টাইন করা হয়েছিল৷ এখন ২৪-২৫ বছর বয়সী ওই যুবক দুজনকে হোটেল থেকে শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের কোভিড ওয়ার্ডে নিয়ে যাওয়ার তোড়জোর চলছে৷

শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের উপাধ্যক্ষ ডা. ভাস্কর গুপ্ত জানান, হটস্পট এলাকা থেকেও মানুষ আসছেন৷ ফলে যে কোনও সময় সংখ্যা অনেকটা বেড়ে যেতে পারে৷

May 19: At 6.35 PM on Tuesday, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that 6 more new COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam. He also mentioned that out of the 6 new patients, two of them are from Balirbond under Ramkrishnanagar area of Karimganj. As per sources in the district health department of Cachar, the two persons who were infected with coronavirus on Tuesday came from Mumbai to Silchar. They came at Silchar ISBT on Monday, after which their swab samples were collected. They were then kept under instituitional quarantine in a hotel at Sonai Road. At present, process is going on for admitting them in the COVID-19 ward of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice principal of SMCH said that as many persons are also coming from hotspots, so at any time there may be a surge in the number of coronavirus patients.
