COVID: 214 persons detected positive in Cachar in last 7 days

July 15: The number of novel coronavirus positive cases are rising by leaps and bounds since the last week in Cachar district. Since 8 July, till 14 July, 2020, a total of 214 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in the district. As per the data provided during the routine daily press briefing by the district administration, this information came to the forefront. Here is the day-wise number of positive cases detected from across Cachar district in the last 7 days (excluding 15 July):

  • 08 July, 2020: 26 positive cases
  • 09 July, 2020: 40 positive cases
  • 10 July, 2020: 43 positive cases
  • 11 July, 2020: 13 positive cases
  • 12 July, 2020: 22 positive cases
  • 13 July, 2020: 44 positive cases
  • 14 July, 2020: 26 positive cases

Further, on Wednesday (15 July), 17 new positive patients were reported from Cachar as per the 1st slot. There are probability in the rise of positive cases on Wednesday as 2 to 3 more lists may be brought out in the night.

As per the data presented by District Media Expert, Suman Choudhury, till now, a total of 507 tested positive in Cachar as of now. At present, till 14 July (midnight), 282 positive patients were admitted in various hospitals of the district. Here is the break-up of the COVID-19 patients admitted in various hospitals till Tuesday midnight:

  • Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH): 128 active patients
  • SM Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar: 33 active patients
  • Masimpur Army Hospital: 35 active patients
  • CRPF Hospital: 01 active patient
  • Palonghat Model Hospital: 67 active patients
  • Foreigners’ Tribunal, Udharbond (Make shift hospital): 18 active patients

Suman Choudhury further stated that only the symptomatic COVID-19 patients will now be admitted at SMCH. Further, as the number of positive cases is on the rise, the district administration is also exploring possibilities of starting new COVID-19 Care Centres/ hospitals in Cachar.

Further, on Wednesday, according to the 1st slot, 17 more persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Cachar district. District media Expert said that 2 or 3 more lists may be declared on Wednesday night.
