Covid-19 +ve resident of Premtala in Silchar dies at SMCH

April 18: With spike in the number of Covid-19 cases, the number of deaths are increasing in the country. On Sunday at 2 AM, a Covid-19 positive patient, Satyendra Mohan Roy (73 years), a resident of Premtala, Silchar breathed his last at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). As per reports, his death occured due to sudden cardiac arrest. He was learnt to have several comorbidities. Satyendra Mohan Roy was admitted at SMCH on 10 April with RT-PCR positive report done in Green Heals Pvt Hospital.

Further, 15 persons were tested Covid-19 positive till 7 PM on Sunday. At present, there are 173 active coronavirus cases in Cachar district. At present, 20 Covid-19 patients are admitted at SMCH, out of which 02 patients are kept on ventilator support. On Sunday, 3 more patients were admitted at SMCH.
