COVID-19: Silchar Airport in a new incarnation as regards handling of passengers

May 29: In the backdrop of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state, Silchar Airport has also geared up in a new incarnation as regards safe & efficient handling of passenger movement. In an official statement, Silchar Airport has stated that their top priority at this moment is ensuring safety. The Cachar District Administration has also instructed the Airport authority to handle the passengers with utmost care and collect the swab samples at the airport itself.

In this connection, Silchar Airport has come up with a swab collection lab along with sitting arrangements. Further, a beverage shop has also been arranged for convenience of waiting passengers at city side of arrival. To ensure social distancing norms, smooth conduct of Thermal scanning & baggage sanitisation, Silchar Airport has constructed a passenger waiting area with comfortable seating arrangements outside Departure.
