COVID-19 positive cases tally rises to 267 in Hailakandi
There are currently 96 active cases of Hailakandi district
une 28: In South Assam’s Hailakandi district, the tally of COVID-19 novel coronavirus positive cases has risen to 267, including two deaths. Health authorities here revealed on Sunday that Dilwar Hussain, 21, Anwar Hussain Choudhury, 24, Imran Hussain Laskar, 20, Masumuddin Barbhuiya, 19, and Lutfur Hussain Choudhury, 20, all under institutional quarantine facility have turned out to be positive.
Of the five infected persons reported on Friday, four were under institutional quarantine facility at AK High Madrassa and one at PK Girls’ quarantine centre.
166 patients have been discharged from civil hospital in Hailakandi, SMC&H, Silchar and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. There are currently 96 active cases. Two COVID-19 positive patients viz., Mangoli Rani Das, 53, and Foijul Haque Barbhuiya, 65, breathed their last at SMC&H. 27 COVID-19 patients are admitted at SK Roy Designated COVID-19 Civil Hospital, 25 at MG Model Hospital, 13 at SMC&H, 33 at Algapur Model Hospital and one at GMC&H.
Of the 7,554 swab samples taken so far, 6,025 turned out to be negative, as per health bulletin released on Sunday evening. 1,529 swab results are awaited. Altogether 1,168 persons are under facility quarantine centre and 3,617 under home quarantine.
