COVID-19 patient from Assam allegedly commits suicide in Maharashtra

April 11: A 30-year-old man who hails from Assam’s Nagaon district was tested positive for coronavirus last Friday. He was a migrant worker from Assam in Maharashtra’s Akola. Recently, the man attended Tablighi Jamaat in Markaz Nizamuddin, Delhi, where he was infected with COVID-19. On returning back to Maharashtra, he was admitted at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Maharashtra’s Akola, where he was undergoing treatment.

On Saturday, the man was alleged to have committed suicide. According to the hospital authorities, the man had allegedly slit his own throat and was found lying unconscious on the bathroom floor of the hospital. He, however, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing surgery.
