COVID-19: NIT Silchar issues strict instructions; no station leave permission until further notice

April 12: In view of the recent increase in COVID-19 pandemic in some states, the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar has taken some important decisions. A notification in this connection was issued by the Dean, Students Welfare of NIT, Silchar.

• No students will be allowed to join the institute physically until further notice.
• Student already left the institute campus with prior permission (even for a short duration) are not allowed to return to the campus without permission
• No station leave permission will be issued until further notice
• Students present in the campus are not permitted to go outside the campus until further notice.
• All the Students must follow all COVID-19 norms – wearing masks and maintaining social distance in the hostel, in the department and within the campus
• In case of emergency, the students are instructed to report to the Health Centre of the institute.

Further, all students were advised to be alert and take utmost measures and precautions to avoid infection. All the students of NIT Silchar were also instructed to strictly follow the above mentioned guidelines to curb the outbreak of coronavirus.
