COVID-19: A different Initiative towards the service for mankind

March 29: At a time, when the entire country is in the grip of devastating coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), the Department of Chemistry, Srikishan Sarda College (S.S. College), Hailakandi came forward for the noble cause of large scale production of alcohol-based hand sanitizer for the purpose of maintaining hand sanitization of administrative and other officials who are constantly offering their tireless service towards humanity in their fight against this deadly virus.

Under the direction and financial support of Keerthi Jalli, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, the faculty members of the department Prof. Sukanya Choudhury and Prof. Debasish Guha Thakurata along with Raju Singh Chetri (Lab Astt), Rupam Dey (Lab Asstt), Anadi Chakraborty (Office Asstt), the project has been completed where Randeep Kumar Dam, ADC, Hailakandi and Amalendu Bhattacharjee, Principal, S. S. College took keen interest for completion of the production of hand sanitiser, according to WHO guidelines.

Debadutta Chakraborty, Coordinator, IQAC, S.S. College also extended his cooperation in the event supervision. Meanwhile, the department also provided hand sanitizer to District Head Post Office, hailakandi. The faculty members of the department expressed their gratitude to the district administration for granting them the opportunity to serve mankind in this situation. The department further assured wholehearted cooperation to the district administration as and when required.
