Coronavirus: Helpline Number ‘104’ launched by Assam govt

March 23: In order to tackle the spread of coronavirus in the state, Assam government has declared complete LOCKDOWN in the state from 6 PM of 24 March, 2020 till 31 March, 2020. State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma while addressing the media at Guwahati told that if there is slightest symptom of fever, cough, throat pain, one should call helpline number ‘104‘ and inform the government immediately. The helpline number will be active from 24 March, 2020.

During the lockdown phase all were directed to stay within their house. The minister said that even inside the house we should try to maintain safe distance with our parents and other family members, especially the aged. He said, “No casual approach will be tolerated at all. This is not the time of rejoicing. I request the people of Assam please stay indoors, please stay safe. There is no medicine of COVID-19 at this stage.”

Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that though the aged are most vulnerable, but those young people who have diabetes, heart ailments or has poor morbidity are also vulnerable to coronavirus. Hence they all should also be extra cautious.
