Cooking gas cylinder price hiked by Rs 25
Aug. 18: Petroleum companies increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 25. The price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 859.50. Earlier on July 1st, the price of the LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 25.50. New rates are effective from 17th August.
Generally, state-owned oil companies change the price of gas cylinders (LPG Price) on the first day of every month. LPG prices in the country are determined by prevailing crude oil prices in international markets and rupee-dollar exchange rate. At the beginning of the year 2021 i.e. in January, the price of LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 694, which was increased to Rs 719 per cylinder in February.
Currently, the government provides 12 subsidised LPG cylinders of 14.2 kilograms to a household every year. The amount of the subsidy provided by the government on the annual quota of 12 refills varies from month to month.
