Constitutional Day celebrated in Cachar district
Nov. 26: Constitution Day was celebrated on Friday in Cachar district. On this occasion, the officers and employees of the government offices of the district took a pledge to abide the provisions enshrined in the constitution and paid homage to the architects of the constitution. Additional District Magistrate Deepak Jidung read out the constitution proposal to the officials and employees of the establishment of the Deputy Commissioner. Earlier, he explained the significance of the day. Floral tributes were offered on the portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution.
Constitution Day, also known as National Law Day, is observed annually on 26 November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India on 26 November, 1949, and it came into force on 26 January 1950, which is celebrated in the country as Republic Day.
