Committee formed at SSUHS to explore ways to impart medical education in vernacular language at UG level
Dec. 18: Chancellor of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam (SSUHS) & Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had in the 5th General Council meeting of SSUHS decided that in line with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s wish, medical education at the undergraduate level should be started also in vernacular medium. The Chancellor has entrusted the Vice Chancellor of SSUHS to take necessary initiatives in this direction.
As such, the Vice Chancellor of SSUHS has constituted a high power committee to go into this whole matter and to prepare a time bound plan of action so that within six months, the basic text books can be prepared. The members of the Committee are:
