CM takes charge of Health Ministry, Keshab in Parimal’s departments
way2barak, June 18: Assam cabinet underwent a major reshuffle on Tuesday. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma taken over the health and family welfare portfolio from Keshab Mahanta following the reshuffle in the state’s cabinet.
Besides taking charge as health minister, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also holds the portfolios of home, personnel, public works, medical education and research, and indigenous & tribal faith and culture.
Keshab Mahanta, who previously held the health and family welfare portfolio, has been assigned additional responsibilities.
He will now oversee the transport, excise and fisheries departments, which were previously managed by Parimal Suklabaidya.
It may be mentioned here that Suklabaidya was recently elected as member of the Loksabha from Assam.
CM Sharma writes in the X that, “the Hon’ble Governor of Assam has re-allocated the Departments in the Council of Ministers. Hon’ble Governor has also accepted the resignation of Parimal Suklabaidya, Hon’ble MP from the Council of Ministers.”
