CM Sonowals visits NHM office, expressed satisfaction at the performance of health department
April 19: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday visited NHM Office, Guwahati. The NHM office is now working as the COVID-19 headquarter of Assam from where all policy decisions regarding containing coronavirus in the state are made. The health officials accompanied by state Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma gave a detailed presentation of the activities undertaken by them so far. Chief Minister Sonowal appreciated the preparedness and positive intervention by the health department.
Taking to his tweeter handle, Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Today we welcomed HCM @sarbanandsonwal in NHM office, which is doubling up as #COVID Control HQ, and gave him a detailed presentation of activities so far. Glad that our preparedness & intervention has been satisfactory. Everyone has to keep up the vigil.”

It needs mention here that as of now a total of 34 persons were tested coronavirus positive in Assam. Out of the 34 cases, 17 patients have recovered and were discharged and 1 patient died. At present, 16 patients are undergoing treatment in Assam. This means the number of cured patients in Assam has now exceeded the number of active patients.
