২৯ জানুয়ারি : ছাত্র, শিক্ষক এবং অভিভাবক এই তিনের মিলনেই পরিপূর্ণ শিক্ষা সম্ভব, তা না হলে সঠিক মানুষ হিসেবে গড়ে ওঠা মোটেই সম্ভব নয়। এমনকি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের উন্নয়নও অসম্ভব। বদরপুর নবীনচন্দ্র কলেজের সুবর্ণ জয়ন্তী অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপনী পর্বের সূচনা করে এ মন্তব্য করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সোনোয়াল। এর পাশাপাশি তিনি ছাত্রছাত্রীদের প্রতিদিন কম করেও ১০ ঘন্টা পড়াশোনা করা সহ বিভিন্ন কাজকর্মে সময় দিতে বলেছেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কথায়, পরিশ্রম ছাড়া জীবনে প্রতিষ্ঠা লাভ করা সম্ভব নয়। এ ক্ষেত্রে অভিভাবকদের আরও সজাগ ও সচেতন হওয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। উদাহরণ টেনে তিনি বলেছেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি প্রতিদিন কুড়ি ঘন্টা কাজ করেন বলেই গোটা বিশ্বে তাঁর এত সম্মান ও পরিচিতি।

একইসঙ্গে তিনি স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ, শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংসদেব, বিশ্বকবি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর, প্রাক্তন রাষ্ট্রপতি এপিজে আব্দুল কালাম, মহাত্মা গান্ধী প্রমুখের প্রসঙ্গ টেনে পড়ুয়াদের মা-বাবা ও শিক্ষকের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন। আর এমন হলে বদরপুর নবীনচন্দ্র কলেজের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা শুধুমাত্র বরাক বা ব্রহ্মপুত্র উপত্যকায় নয়, গোটা বিশ্বে নাম ছড়িয়ে পড়বে। সেক্ষেত্রে দেশ ও জাতির স্বার্থে কাজ করতে হবে পড়ুয়াদের।

এ দিন বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে মন্ত্রী পরিমল শুক্লবৈদ্য বলেন, দেশ গঠন করতে হলে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের অগ্রণী ভূমিকা নিতে হবে। আর এভাবে ছাত্র সমাজ এগিয়ে যাবে। এ দিন অনুষ্ঠানে কলেজের বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন অধ্যক্ষ ডঃ মোর্তজা হোসেন। এনসি কলেজের এই অনুষ্ঠানে এ দিন উপত্যকার একঝাঁক রাজনৈতিক নেতাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

এদের মধ্যে অন্যতম শিলচরের বিধায়ক দিলীপ কুমার পাল, বদরপুরের বিধায়ক জামাল উদ্দিন, কাটিগড়া বিধায়ক অমরচাঁদ জৈন, বড়খলার বিধায়ক কিশোর নাথ, আলগাপুরের বিধায়ক নিজাম উদ্দিন, পাথারকান্দির বিধায়ক কৃষ্ণেন্দু পাল, রাতাবাড়ির বিধায়ক বিজয় মালাকার, উধারবন্দের বিধায়ক মিহিরকান্তি সোম, শিলচর ও করিমগঞ্জের সাংসদ যথাক্রমে রাজদীপ রায় ও কৃপানাথ মালাহ, বিধানসভার উপাধ্যক্ষ আমিনুল ইসলাম লস্কর, করিমগঞ্জ ও হাইলাকান্দি জেলা বিজেপি সভাপতি যথাক্রমে আশিস নাথ ও স্বপন ভট্টাচার্য। এছাড়াও ছিলেন নবীনচন্দ্র কলেজের প্রাক্তন অধ্যক্ষ নিশিথ রঞ্জন দাস সহ কলেজের নবীন ও প্রবীণ ছাত্রছাত্রী ও শিক্ষক-অশিক্ষক কর্মীরা।

January 29: It was indeed a red letter day in the history of Nabin Chandra College, Badarpur. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the college on Thursday. He was accorded a grand welcome by the college fraternity. Principal of the College, Dr. Mortuja Hussain delivered the welcome address.

Speaking during the occasion, CM Sonowal said, “For the development of any educational institution, the combined efforts of teachers, students and their guardians is a must. The history of 50 golden years of your college gives testimony to the fact that all these 3 sections have given their best.” He urged upon the student community of the college to work hard and study atleast 10 hours in a day. Sonowal said, “There is no short cut to success.” He further urged upon the students to be ideal citizens in the future.

Sonowal drew the instance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “The PM works 20 hours a day with devotion and dedication and that is why the nation is marching ahead with pride. In the same way, you students should also march ahead with dignity and devotion. I also urge upon the students to maintain cleanliness of their campus. You should respect your teachers and parents to become real human beings in life.”

The Chief Minister also addressed the parents and guardians and said, “You should also keep track on the activities of your wards. The teachers also have a great responsibility. The teachers should understand the weaknesses of the students and walk the extra mile to make the students achieve success in their studies. We have to put our dedicated effort so that we can produce quality human resource from this beautiful campus.”

Sarbananda Sonowal lavishly praised the Principal of the college, Dr. Mortuja Hussain for his great vision and dedication. He said, “It’s indeed a matter of exceptional joy to learn that till now the Principal has neither taken any C.L. or D.L. He is the example of hard work and committed effort. You students are fortunate to have such a dedicated Principal who has not taken any leave in his 8 years of career as the Principal.”

Present during the occasion were Minister of Fishery, Excise, Environment & Forest Parimal Suklabaidya, Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Aminul Haque Laskar, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MLA Silchar Dilip Kumar Paul, MLA Pathatkandi Krishnendu Paul, MLA Ratabari Bijoy Malakar, MLA Katogorah Amar Chand Jain, MLA Algapur Nizamuddin Choudhury, MLA Badarpur Jamal Uddin Choudhury, former MLA Gautam Roy, President of Reception Committee of N.C. College Golden Jubilee Jubilee Celebration Dr. Amiyo Kumar Paul. Working President of Reception Committee Arun Kumar Sen, Secretary of Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee Joynal Abdedin Tapadar, Mission Ranjan Das, Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj Anbamuthun among others.

It needs mention here that N.C. College was established in the year 1969. The Golden Jubilee Celebrations began on 7 August, 2019 at 9 AM with a colourful procession. Meanwhile various other programmes were held throughout the year in this connection. In connection with the Golden Jubilee Celebration, games and sports competition were also held in the college campus.
