CM Mamata announces 11 days Puja holidays, ₹60,000 grant for puja committees & rebate of 60% on electricity bill

Aug. 22: Amid corruption charges of West Bengal Ministers, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made some big announcements for the ensuing Durga Puja festival. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced 11 days government holidays for Durga Puja. Government holidays for Durga Puja will be from 30 September to 10 October.

Last year, the Durga Puja committees received financial assistance of Rs 50,000. This year the committees will get Rs 60,000, an increase of ₹10,000 from last year, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said. The Chief Minister further announced, “We will also provide them a rebate of 60% on the electricity bill.”
