CM hands over appointment letters to 22,958 recruits across 11 departments

We shall soon recruit another batch of 7,000-8,000 youth, while written exam for 26,000 posts will be held in last week of July: CM

May 14: As per earlier announcement, Assam Government on Saturday, distributed appointment letters among 22,958 new recruits across 11 departments. “A momentous occasion for all of us as we are on course to redeem our pledge to provide 1 lakh jobs to youth of Assam. By handing over appointment letters to 22,958 recruits in 11 departments, we have tried to set a new precedence in transparent appointments to government jobs,” stated Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during the ceremonial distribution of the appointments letters on Saturday in a programme held at Khanapara field in Guwahati.

The  department- wise breakup of the 22,958 new recruits are:

  • Home:8,876
  • Education: 11,063
  • Public Health Engineering: 303
  • Water Resource: 105
  • Social Welfare: 69
  • Health: 2,419
  • Agriculture: 55
  • Environment & Forest: 23
  • PWD (Roads): 08
  • Mines and Minerals: 02
  • Labour Welfare: 17

Speaking during the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Sarma said, “A momentous occasion for all of us as we are on course to redeem our pledge to provide 1 lakh jobs to youth of Assam. By handing over appointment letters to 22,958 recruits in 11 departments, we have tried to set a new precedence in transparent appointments to government jobs. I urge all the newly appointed friends to dedicatedly work for the prosperity of state.”

“We are on a mission to transform Assam into a top performing state and we shall count on your support to serve people with sincerity & dedication. We shall soon recruit another batch of 7,000-8,000 youth, while written exam for 26,000 posts will be held in last week of July. I’m confident the youthful vigour of the new recruits will infuse a new dynamism into the entire administrative machinery to help transform Assam,” added the Chief Minister.
