CM Chairs Review Meet with all DC’s; Issues directives for success of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign

Aug. 1: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today chaired a review meeting on ranges of topics with the deputy commissioners of the state’s districts at Assam Administrative Staff College auditorium here.

Speaking on the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, aimed at ensuring the national flag is hoisted on display at every household in the country between coming August 13 to August 15, the Chief Minister issued broad directives to the Deputy Commissioners to ensure maximum participation of people in their respective districts. The Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners to go on a massive publicity campaign, highlighting the relaxation of flag codes, among others, in the run-up to the platinum jubilee celebrations of India’s Independence. Dr. Sarma also asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure the coming Independence Day is celebrated in a manner befitting the
occasion of 75 years of the nation’s freedom from colonial rule.

On Jal Jeevan Mission, the Chief Minister instructed the senior officials and the Deputy Commissioners to have zero tolerance on quality of work by concerned contractors and the reviewing personnel. He further asked them to look into the factors inhibiting the scheme from extending its full intended benefits to the beneficiaries and sort them out in the shortest possible time period. Calling Ayushman Bharat the Prime Minister’s dream project, the Chief Minister asked the concerned officials to Deputy Commissioners to ensure rollout of Adhaar- seeded Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana within a time-bound manner, so that the intended beneficiaries are not deprived of the scheme.

The Chief Minister also discussed schemes such as Prime Minister’s Awaas Yojana, Amrit Sarovar, Adhaar enrolment in tea gardens, etc. in the meeting. The Chief Minister was today seen emphasizing on use of technology and modern mechanisms such as direct benefit transfers (DBT), Adhaar-seeding, etc. in dispersal of benefits to intended beneficiaries. Today’s meeting was also seen the attendance of Public Health Engineering Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah and senior-most officials of the government of Assam.
