Child Protection Day in Hailakandi postponed

March 1: Child Protection Day slated to be held in Hailakandi district on March 4 has been postponed until further notice. As the election schedule for the Assembly election has been announced by the Election Commission of India and with commencement of Model Code of Conduct in the State, the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has deferred the programme until the completion of Assembly election. Every year on March 4, Child Protection Day is observed by the commission, which also happens to be its foundation day.
