Chief Minister along with Health Minister inspects upcoming AIIMS at Changsari, Assam
July 12: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) construction site at Changsari in Kamrup district of Assam. Later on, the Chief Minister tweeted, “Inspected the under construction AIIMS, Guwahati along with health minister Shri @himantabiswa and reviewed progress of works. Once completed, the premier health care institute will provide state-of-the-art services to the people of Assam & NE.”
Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed reviewed the status of installation of power substations, drainage layout for releasing stormwater coming down from the nearby hills, provision for drinking water, emergency response system like fire outbreak management within the institution complex etc. It needs mention here that out of the total project cost of more than Rs. 1200 crore an amount of Rs. 757 crore has been released by the Central Government for construction of the AIIMS.

Taking to his tweeter handle, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Along with HCM @ sarbanand sonwal inspected the site for upcoming AIIMS at Changsari and reviewed progress of the project. Once ready, this shall immensely bolster our healthcare management capabilities and will become a boon for the North East.”
