Charity group formed by a few teachers of Ramanuj Gupta Jr College stands beside flood victims

May 24: The ongoing flood has affected a huge multitude of people in Cachar district. Although the river water has gone down considerably below the danger level, yet by then, many people were rendered homeless as river water flooded their home. As a good Samaritan, many individuals and organisations have come forward to help those people who are now staying in various relief camps.

At a time, when multitude of people in Cachar district are in the grip of flood, many people and organisations have come forward to help the flood victims. One such charity group formed by some of the teachers of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College decided to stand besides the flood affected people and distributed food items among those who have taken shelter at Durga Sankar Patshala at Ambicapatty, Silchar.

On Tuesday, the teachers of the charity group of Ramanuj went to Durga Sankar Patshala and and distributed a total of 216 litres of packaged drinking water and 144 packets of biscuit among 181 flood victims of 39 families. As their houses were flooded, these people took shelter at the school. This charity group was assisted by Dilip Kr Roy, Head Teacher of Durga Sankar Patshala, Asstt Teacher Suchitra Deb and social worker Raju Halder.
