Celebrating Bangla art, culture & literature through the Asian Literary Society’s BHAASHA 2021 Programme
Nov. 28: The Asian Literary Society (ALS) in association with the Journal of Asian Art, Culture, and Literature (JAACL) organized BHAASHA 2021 (Bangla) programme in virtual mode on 27 November, 2021 in which more than sixty eminent Bangla literary luminaries and acclaimed artists from India (primarily Assam, Tripura and West Bengal), Bangladesh, UAE and USA participated.
The event started with a live session by the Chief Guest Prof. Achintya Biswas (Former HOD of Bangla), J U ( Kolkata) & Former VC, Gaur Banga University, Maldah, West Bengal and the Guest of Honour, Prof. Arunoday Saha (Guest of Honour & First VC of Tripura Central University, Agartala) accompanied by Bangla verses by Dr. Bishakha Sarma.
Dr. Bishakha Sarma (Linguist & administrator of Asian Literary Society) moderated a panel discussion with popular personalities from Kolkata and Silchar (Assam) – Prof. Aveek Majumder, Debjyoti Bhattacharyya, Dr. Indranil Sanyal, Samarbijoy Chakraborty and Tridev Choudhury. A huge magnet of the BHAASHA 2021 programme comprised of the soulful performances of Bangla songs and dances, poetry recitation and storytelling in Bangla, international poetry meet and musical programme ‘Golden Memories of Bengal’ took place.
