Cachar Police seizes 30 kg cannabis, 2 persons apprehended

July 20: Based on a secret information, SDPO Lakhipur and staff intercepted two persons carrying three bags at Dilkhush Ghat on Tuesday early morning. On being searched, it was found that the bags contained Ganja (Cannabis) weighing 30 kgs. The contraband items were seized and two persons were apprehended in this connection. Legal action, as per the procedure were initiated.

The two youths arrested in this connection were identified as:

• Pradip Namasundra (38) S/O Chitta Namasundra of Tilka Natun Basti, PS: Lakhipur
• Mukta Mallik (34) S/O Late Shiranjit Mallik of Tilka Latingkhal, PS:-Jiribam, Manipur.
