Cachar Police seize 1 lakh WY tablets, nabs 2 drug peddlers

Nov. 25: Cachar Police has again caught hold of two two drug peddlers along with 1 lakh WY tablets worth around Rs. 1 crore. Based on information received from a specific source, a police team, led by the officer-in-charge of Jirighat police station carried out an operation. Sharing this information, Cachar Police tweeted, “Based on source information OC Jirighat PS intercepted a vehicle at Jirighat .On search recovered one lakh WY Tablet from the possession of two persons.A case has been registered under NDPS act ‘DRUGSFREEASSAM’.”

WY is commonly known as ‘World is yours’. WY is a methamphetamine tablet. These tablets contain methamphetamine, which is a very addictive stimulant drug along with caffeine and is generally known to be popular among youths or those who prefer night parties. The WY tablets were recovered from a vehicle at Jirighat. A case has been registered at Jirighat police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
