Cachar district administration’s innovative SVEEP campaign to urge drivers & assistants to avail Postal Ballot

March 12: District administration of Cachar took up an innovative programme to motivate drivers and handyman, especially on poll duty to cast their votes spontaneously. The programme was formally inaugurated by the General Observer Amlan Aditya Biswas IAS, the Chief Guest  of the occasion. This innovative voters awareness campaign was organised by Cachar district administration at Devdoot Traffic signal point on Friday.

No description available.The innovative campaign involved vehicle drivers being welcomed with traditional betel vine and sweets on the street keeping in mind the Garv Cachar theme celebrating tradition with modernity. These drivers were also stamped with ‘Vote on 1st April for Garv Cachar’. Vehicular movement was flagged through innovative placards displaying messages on voting awareness.

No description available.The General observer Amlan Aditya Biswas IAS said that this time drivers and handyman will be able to cast their votes through postal ballot papers. He appreciated the initiative of the district administration and said that the district administration has brought a mix of tradition and modernity through this initiative. Earlier, all the dignitaries were felicitated with traditional “uttorio”.

At the outset SPO Ruli Daulagupu explained the purpose and objectives of this event. District Transport Officer Anshuman Biswas said in his welcome address that postal ballots have been arranged to facilitate drivers and assistants to cast their votes. Applications for postal ballots will also be available at the Department of Transportation.

Bholanath Yadav, on behalf of the Cachar Light Vehicle Owners Association, said it would be very convenient for drivers and handyman to cast their votes through the postal ballot papers.  A postal ballot van for distribution of form 12D was also officially flagged off by General observer Amlan Aditya Biswas and a signature campaign was held on this occasion.

Assistant Commissioner Cachar, Vibhor Agarwal IAS, Magistrate Bikash Chetri ALRS, Assistant Planning Officer Sangeeta Gupta and other officials were present on the occasion. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by SPO Ruli Daulagupu.
