Cachar district administration straightens itself, conducts operation at various parts of Silchar

May 16: Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli has taken a slew of measures to ensure that all kinds of lockdown norms are being strictly followed in the district. As part of this, a team comprising additional superintendent of police (headquarter) Jagadish Das and Additional Superintendent of Police (Border) Gaurav Agarwal, on Saturday, conducted operations at different areas of Silchar town following complaint of existence of roadside markets in the areas.

The administration, as part of measures to contain the spread of coronavirus, has issued prohibition on roadside markets. As per the administration’s directive, the team conducted operations at different areas including Tarapur, Rangirkhari, National Highway and Hailakandi Road on Saturday after which the markets were removed from the areas. The owners of the markets were warned to not violate the administration’s guidelines henceforth or else stringent action would be taken against them.

Besides, the team checked vehicles across the town to ensure the order on odd-even rule regarding movement of vehicles is being followed. Meanwhile, intensive announcements through mobile miking system was also carried out by the technical team of regional office of information and public relations,The technical team made announcements in different parts of the town to aware citizens about lockdown-related guidelines.

Cachar Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli appealed to all the citizens for their co-operation and support in the fight against corona virus. She made it clear that stern action would be taken against those found flouting lockdown norms.
