Cachar Dist Administration inaugurates ‘Silchar Study Circle’ for APSC/ UPSC aspirants

Aug. 19: The Silchar Study Circle saw its inauguration on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar with a lamp lighting ceremony. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by DC Cachar Keerthi Jalli in presence of the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Cachar, Rajib Roy, Addl Deputy Commissioner i/c Personnel and Training branch, Dipak Jidung. Sudarshan Gupta, HOD, History, Radhamadhab College also attended the Inauguration Ceremony on behalf of the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA), Cachar. In addition, the 30 APSC/ UPSC aspirants selected to the Silchar Study Circle were also present.

The Silchar Study Circle is a pet project of the District Administration, Cachar and its main objective is to facilitate doubt clearing sessions of selected aspirants in an interactive setting between the aspirants and resource persons. The concept of this Study Circle is basically a platform for study sessions to groom the selected aspirants for the upcoming APSC/ UPSC examinations and in no way comprehensive coaching sessions.

A total of 1,327 applications were received for entrance exam to the Study Circle, out of which 711 were shortlisted based on the UG/PG qualifications. A total of 162 applicants appeared for the Entrance Exam held on 7 August, out of which 30 aspirants were selected to be a part of the Silchar Study Circle 2021.
In her speech, DC Jalli said, “I urge upon the students to take the benefits of this course. All of you are quite matured and should inculcate a positive attitude so that you can overcome all hurdles and come out with flying colours. The faculty members from various colleges, university and officials of the administration will impart the essentials of their respective subjects. You should try to extract the maximum. You should keep yourself updated about the happenings around the world. The internet is flooded with materials, but while choosing what to study you need to be very cautious. We will extend all sorts of possible help so that you may achieve your goal.”
The Deputy Commissioner, Cachar and other officers of the District Administration, Cachar motivated and encouraged the selected aspirants to work hard and achieve their goals. The District Administration also heartily expressed gratitude to the resource persons from the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA), Cachar who have volunteered themselves and their professional expertise to teach the selected aspiring youths of Cachar district. The resource persons’ panel also includes volunteering officers from District Administration who are ready to help bridge knowledge gaps of various topics as per the needs of the aspirants.
