Cachar BJYM distributes 3000 earthen lamps prior to Diwali

Nov. 13: Responding to the call of ‘Vocal for Local’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Cachar District Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morch (BJYM) on Friday distributed three thousand earthen lamps (diyas) in Binnakandi, Lakhipur and Jaypur Mandal under Cachar District in the presence of Cachar BJYM President Amitesh Chakraborty.

It needs mention here that under the direction of Anup Barman, President of Assam Pradesh Yuva Morcha earthen lamps were distributed in every district of Assam by BJYM members. Speaking on the occasion, Cachar BJYM President Amitesh Chakraborty said, “Based on the call of our esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of the country to go “Vocal For Local”, today we have distributed 3000 Earthen lamps among the poor people of Binnakandi, Lakhipur and Jaypur Mandal.  Through this endeavour, we wanted to promote local products and fulfilling the promise of a self-reliant India by boycotting foreign goods.”

“We are still fighting with COVID-19 and moreover during this season the air gets polluted. It would be a good step if we try not to pollute the environment further by bursting noisy firecrackers and other such fireworks that release a lot of toxic materials in the air,”he added. During the Distribution Ceremony, Cachar BJYM General Secretary Shambhu Thakur, Secretary Subham Roy, Mandal presidents and local BJYM members were also present.
