Cachar Admn enforces comprehensive aerial security measures for Shah’s visit

way2barak, February 18:—In a decisive move to ensure the highest standards of security during the proposed visit of the Union Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah, to Cachar District on 19th and 20th February 2026, the District Administration Cachar has announced the imposition of a No-Fly Zone for all Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/Drones across the entire district.
Acting in pursuance of an official letter received from the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security & Intelligence), Cachar DEF, Assam Police, and after a comprehensive assessment of the security implications associated with a high-profile VVIP visit, the District Magistrate, Cachar, Silchar, Shri Aayush Garg has formally declared Cachar District as a drone-free zone for the specified period.
Under the order, all private and commercial drone operators are strictly prohibited from operating any drones anywhere within the district limits during the said period.
The order further states that no exemptions shall be permitted, except in cases where explicit prior written permission is obtained from the competent authority after rigorous security vetting.
Any violation of this order will invite strict legal action, and offenders shall be liable for prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
