Cachar administration puts restrictions in place to prevent huge gatherings in malls, business establishments
Oct. 20: Just ahead of Durga Puja, Cachar district administration has now come up with another set of rules to restrict too many people inside shops. Huge crowd at various malls, shopping complexes, stores and other business establishments in Cachar may lead to spike in number of COVID-19 positive cases. To curb large gatherings in such places, the Cachar district administration has put certain restrictions in place.
District Development Commissioner cum CEO District Disaster Management Authority, Jessica Lalsim issued an order to this effect on Tuesday that set to limit the entry of persons to all business establishments to a certain number as per availability of space in order to prevent mass gathering.
The order stated that only a handful of customers would be permitted inside the business establishments. It is only after a group comes out of the stores that the next batch would be allowed to go in. The order directed all the business establishments to ensure availability of sanitiser and thermal scanner and put up “no mask no entry” board at the main entrance.
It was further stated that violation of the order entails punishment under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under 188 IPC.
