Cachar Administration Imposes Temporary No-Fly Zone and No-Parking Restrictions

way2barak, March 9: In view of the proposed visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to Cachar district on March 14, 2026, the District Administration, Cachar has announced a series of precautionary measures to ensure seamless security management and smooth vehicular movement during the high-profile event.
Acting on security inputs and in pursuance of a communication received from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Cachar, the District Magistrate, Cachar, Shri Aayush Garg, IAS, has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
As part of the security protocol for the VVIP visit, the entire Cachar district has been declared a No-Fly Zone for all types of aerial devices, including Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), drones, UAVs, paragliders and microlight aircraft from March 10 to March 15, 2026.
All private and commercial operators have been strictly directed not to operate or fly drones or any other aerial devices anywhere within the district during the specified period. The order has been issued keeping in view the sensitive security arrangements required for the Prime Minister’s visit.
However, exceptions may be considered only with explicit prior written permission from the competent authority, following thorough security vetting.
Meanwhile, in a separate order aimed at ensuring smooth and uninterrupted movement of VVIP vehicles, the District Magistrate has also declared certain key routes as No-Parking Zones from March 10 to March 14, 2026. The restrictions will apply on ISBT Point to Mangal Pandey Statue Point (Silchar Bypass–Hailakandi Road Junction) and ISBT Point to ONGC Campus, Srikona.
All private and commercial vehicle owners and drivers have been instructed not to park any vehicles along the above-mentioned routes during the specified period so that traffic movement remains unhindered during the programme.
The programme venue for the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s visit has been fixed at Ambicapur Part-III, Silchar Bypass.
The district administration has cautioned that any violation of the above orders will attract prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The District Administration, Cachar has appealed to citizens, drone operators and vehicle owners to extend full cooperation in adhering to the restrictions so that the historic visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to the district is conducted peacefully, safely and in an orderly manner.
