Cachar admin launches toll-free helpline to streamline public grievances

Way2barak, April 10 : In a progressive move aimed at bolstering transparency and ensuring timely redressal of public concerns, the Cachar District Administration has announced the immediate activation of a dedicated Toll-Free Helpdesk for the District Complaint Grievance (DCG) and Model Code of Conduct (MCC) Cell. The initiative, steered by the Chief Executive Officer of Cachar Zila Parishad, who also serves as the In-Charge of the MCC Cell for the Parliamentary Elections 2025, reflects a renewed commitment to efficient governance and citizen-centric administration.
The Toll-Free Number 1800-345-3965 has been introduced to offer the public a direct, hassle-free channel to lodge complaints, raise grievances, or report any violations related to the Model Code of Conduct. The cell will be operating from the PFC Branch of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Silchar, ensuring a centralized mechanism to monitor, evaluate, and act upon public submissions in real time.
This new helpline underscores the district’s proactive approach in creating a responsive electoral environment, especially during the critical pre-election period. By establishing a dedicated communication line, the administration aims to empower citizens, encourage transparency, and reinforce accountability at every level of governance.
With the election machinery gearing up for the upcoming parliamentary polls, such measures are instrumental in upholding the democratic spirit and ensuring that the electoral process remains free, fair, and inclusive. The public is encouraged to utilize the toll-free number for all relevant concerns, thereby contributing to a more informed and participatory democratic process.
