13,610 persons are kept still under quarantine in Assam

April 18: As of now, 13,610 persons are still placed under quarantine in Assam. Out of this, 12,000 persons are kept in home quarantine, 1512 in facility quarantine and 98 in hospital quarantine. This was informed by state Health Minister, Dr. himanta Biswa Sarma in a press briefing held in Guwahati on Saturday evening.

However, initially, 84,000 people were kept under home quarantine in the state. Out of this, 72,874 were released from the quarantine stage after the lapse 14 days. As regards the number of days required for  keeping persons under quarantine, the minister said that those whose history of connection is with a single contact, they are released after a period of 14 days. However, he stated that those family members of positive patients or are connected with Nizamuddin Markaz or Atgaon Mosque will be kept under quarantine for 28 days.
