Bus from Ajmer: All other 33 passengers comes out negative on the 5th day test, says Himanta
May 14: The term ‘positive’ has really become a weird one for the people globally. Reversely, ‘negative’ seems to be more optimistic word in the backdrop of the outbreak of coronavirus. A similar ‘negative’ outcome connected with Silchar will certainly give some positive feelings among the people of this town in particular and of Barak valley in general.
The bus from Ajmer which came to Silchar on 6 May evoked fear and panic among the inhabitants of Cachar when 10 of its passengers tested COVID-19 positive. Out of a total of 43 passengers, the 1st report of 33 persons were negative. However, there was a fear among the people regarding their next swab test which would be done on the 5th day. But it’s indeed heartening to note that all the 33 passengers who are still under institutional quarantine tested negative on their 5th day test. This information was shared by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing at NHM office on Thursday night.
The minister said though at present the situation in Guwahati is a bit disheartening but there is some optimistic news from Cachar. He said, “Those 43 persons who came by bus to Cachar, out of them 10 tested positive initially. On the 5th day test, everybody else, that is, 33 of the rest bus passengers were tested negative.”
