BSNL not to shut services in Assam, says CGM
July 3: A section of the media reported that BSNL is going to discontinue its services owing to its critical financial position. However, claiming such reports as rumour, the Chief General Manager of the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), Assam Circle, Sandeep Govil said that the services will not be discontinued in Assam.
The Chief General Manager of BSNL urged all its customers to keep away from the rumours and keep faith in BSNL. He also mentioned about the clarification made by Minister of Communications, Ravi Shankar Prasad that there are no plans to close down BSNL.
Sandeep Govil further said that BSNL has been expanding its mobile customer base and the market share has increased from 9.63 per cent to 10.72 percent. He further clarified that there has been a proposal for revival of the PSU as designed by the government and that the news reports have only focused on the closure and not the government’s revival proposal.
