Describing the incident, an eye witness said, “I was on my way to a shop when suddenly I heard a little girl crying and asking for help. The girl called me and said that her maternal uncle was beating her mother. At once, I ran inside and saw that indeed the boy was beating his elder sister in the courtyard. At that moment, I could not make out that he had a machete (dah) in his hand. I thought it to be a stick. His sister was lying in the ground and the boy was beating her.”
“I asked him- Rajesh, what are you doing? At this, he started to chase me. It was then that I realised that it was not a stick, but he had a sharp machete (dah) in his hand. A few seconds later when he went back to the courtyard. I again followed him there and saw that he was chopping his sister with the sharp weapon just like firewood, added the eye witness.
