Both Covaxin & Covishield to be given at 4 centres in Silchar on 6 August

Aug 4: Dr Reema Patao, Medical Officer of Urban Family Welfare Unit, Silchar on Wednesday stated that both online and on-spot vaccination session for those above 18 years of age will take place at four centres in Silchar on Friday, where both Covaxin and Covishield will be provided. A total of 1,500 doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be administered on 6 August in Silchar town.

The 4 vaccination centres are:

1. Nazirpatty Model School: Only 2nd dose vaccines will be provided on the basis of online slot booking. A total of 300 doses of Covishield will be provided in this school on 6 August. Apart from this, 100 doses of Covaxin (2nd dose) will also be administered at this centre on 6 August on the basis of on-spot registration.
2. Durga Sankar Patshala, Ambicapatty: Here, both 1st dose (100 shots) and 2nd dose (100 shots) will be given on the basis of online slot booking. Again, both 1st dose (100 shots) and 2nd dose (100 shots) will be provided on the basis of on-spot registration. That means, a total of 400 doses of Covishield will be given in this centre on 6 August
3. Govt Girls HS School, Silchar (For senior citizens): Both 1st dose (200 shots) and 2nd dose (200 shots) will be given on the basis of on-spot registration. That means, a total of 400 doses of Covishield will be administered in this centre on 6 August.
4. Urban PHC, Trunk Road (Only for Govt Officials): Only 2nd dose vaccines will be provided on the basis of online on-spot registration. At this centre, vaccines will be provided only to government officials. A total of 300 doses of Covishield will be provided in this school on 6 August.
