Bomb blast at newly created district of Tamulpur in Assam, no casualties
Feb. 3: On Thursday afternoon, a low-intensity bomb blast occurred in Tamulpur district of Assam. This has given rise to panic among the people. The blast which occurred along Indo-Bhutan border near Sukanjuli Firing Range at No 1 Paharpur damaged the house of one Parameshwar Hazdar. However, the family members of the house which included 7 children were lucky to survive the ordeal.
The blast was a result of misguidance which occurred during a training session of 31 No Field Regiment of the Indian Army. The Indian Army personnel reached the spot and apologized for the incident. The army has also assured to rebuild the house that was damaged.
It needs mention here that the Governor of Assam on January 23 has sanctioned Tamulpur as the new district of the state. The newly created district will consist of Darangajuli, Goibari, Nagrijuli, and Suklai Serfang constituencies of the BTC.
